@shikkaro New Zelda Video
Lab Work – @shikkaro New Zelda Video – Gameplay
I’ve been waiting to cover the new Zelda Video for sometime now (seven years, with over 50 hours of gameplay shared). Visit @shikkaro on YouTube for the complete game walkthrough. See more…
Embark on an epic adventure as Zelda, tackles the Breath Of The Wild, a truly remarkable game. Experience the same adventurous journey and journey through Hyrule, with the ‘open world’ concept, new enemies, smooth gameplay, and more.
Please note, this game is not new per se, just new to me. I’ve been putting off the Nintendo Switch for what feels like a life time. It’s on my list of consoles to purchase at some point… so this article will cover more of the experience from a viewers perspective. I would encourage you all to check out @shikkaro’s gameplay, with roughly 23 video segments, providing a lot of content. A huge shout out for the coverage. Moreover, now, let’s get into the game!
Gameplay, Hud, Enemies, Story
Starting with the storyline, conquer the Hyrule land, a breath of fresh air. It remains smooth even after more than 7 years since it’s launch. Bend time, climb, and create with the power of ‘bending time’. The HUD is easy on the eyes, helpful and easy to follow. It is non-intrusive, clean-lined and straightforward (meaning limited screen real estate, simple and helpful) as a HUD should be. Sometimes these elements can be a distraction, with moving parts (or mechanics), aggressive angles and create distractions. Yes, elements in the HUD do move, and change as activities progress. However, the HUD in this game is appealing and non-intrusive allowing for more focus on the game itself. The storyline and game play would remind you of The Legend of Zelda, explosions and such with elements shared from The Ocarina of Time. AS such, a long time console user will be familiar with. It fits nicely in the Zelda series progression.
Enemies are fun and challenging, as are the puzzle and strategy elements included in the game. The game brings back memories of the late 80’s; certainly nostalgic. Enemies complement stage play, contributing to the storyline progression. The game has held up well and is ready for it’s companion game released in September 2024. Enemies have more advanced AI systems at play in Breath Of The Wild. The simple 2D-likeness and 3D simulation in Nintendo games contribute to their staying power over the years
